Basement Jaxx — My Turn 1 Comment While I don’t mean to inundate you with posts about Basement Jaxx, I just read on Pitchfork that the duo has posted a newish track, “My Turn,” for stream on their MySpace page, and it’s a lovely one–I’ve had it on repeat for about 30 minutes.

House duo Basement Jaxx made a lot of prime pop cuts back when the s switched over to that weird new era called the s, primarily hitting it big with the boisterous and in-your-face "Where's Your Head At". 'Singles' is their definitive collection, and it's now being issued on vinyl for the first time.

Much was made, upon the release of Arca’s eponymous LP, of the artist’s move towards a more song-based style of music-making. Of course, this was a relative assessment - while that album did indeed coalesce around singing to a greater extent than previous Arca records, at its core it remained a set of mournful electronic soundscapes of the sort we had heard on the likes of Xen and Mutant.
