Everything the Jefferson Airplane was to become was evident from this, their 1st album. As much as I love every JA album (Yes, I even loved Bark, Long John Silver & the reunion album) for me Takes Off has stood the test of time & is one of the albums I most frequently revisit.5/5(5).

Dec 31,  · How rare is the uncensored stereo Jefferson Airplane Takes Off vinyl lp? Discussion in 'Music Corner' started by The Panda, Dec 30, Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next > The Panda Forum Mutant Thread Starter. I'm really happy to have the album in the original form, I don't care a whit if they dubbed the rare ones from an LP. Arkoffs, Dec 30, #7.

The first two tracks, It's No Secret and Blues From an Airplane, are from the group's first album, Jefferson Airplane Takes Off (September ). Kantner and Balin of course co-founded the group, but Grace Slick was not even yet a member, so these two songs have a different feel to them than the succeeding tracks/5(92).
